...but this opens up a new area of research - when I have time.

Googling Queens Park Rangers+Douglas throws up several Douglases

Hello Jeremy,

Sorry, yes William is right, the John Douglas I discovered on the Queens Park players list would have been your great-uncle - my apologies.

Regards,

John

Jeremy, I am sorry it has taken so long to welcome you to the site.

Can you put any dates and places to your family? Births, deaths, marriages, etc, all help people who might be connected tie in with your tree.

I am not sure that John is correct in identifying your uncle.  That must be about the time he was born?

Yours aye,

William

Hello Jeremy,

Here's a link to a site mentioning a footballer whom I think is probably your father.

He played for Queens Park between 1948 and 1951

Best regards

Making conections

The more information you can give about the people you mention, the more chance there is of someone else connecting with your family.

Dates and places of births, deaths and marriages all help to place families.

Professions also help.

'My great-grandmother mother was a Douglas from Montrose' does not give many clues to follow up! But a bit of flesh on the bones makes further research possible. But if we are told who she married, what his profession was and where the children were baptised, then we can get to work.

Maybe it is time to update the information in your profile?
