Lieutenant Douglass, a Defender at the Siege of Londonderry (Ireland) in 1689, killed in the Battle of Windmill Hill. First name not verified but probably James, based on hereditary naming. Has son named William, probably. His sword was brought to America in 1729 by his grandson, James Douglass, who settled in Voluntown, Connecticut. Have been researching this line over 50 years.

Verified is James Douglass, born 1689, married (Janet, pronounced Jenett), and first child (William) born in Northern Ireland; Presbyterian. Immigrated 1729 to Connecticut.
