I have just done a quick place name search and found multiple entries for Nashville, which is not very helpful.  However, I have merged these and that will appear in the next database update.
But I could see no connection to your family, but you might have better luck.

Welcome to our community, Jan.

'Your' Archibald is one of our mystery men.  Was he a Lord?  Did he leave Scotland via Ireland?

Was he the son of John Douglas of Newcastle? (Not a lord)
Was he a grandson of Sir William Douglas, 9th Earl of Drumlanrig and 1st Earl of Queensbury? And if so, why is he not in the Queensbury family tree?

Too many questions; not enough answers.

It would be good to know your father's heritage.  Maybe there are some clues there?

Is there anyone who can do a DNA test?

Yours aye,

William

Making conections

The more information you can give about the people you mention, the more chance there is of someone else connecting with your family.

Dates and places of births, deaths and marriages all help to place families.

Professions also help.

'My great-grandmother mother was a Douglas from Montrose' does not give many clues to follow up! But a bit of flesh on the bones makes further research possible. But if we are told who she married, what his profession was and where the children were baptised, then we can get to work.

Maybe it is time to update the information in your profile?
