Could this be the Edwin T. Douglas for whom the ship was named?

Re: her wartime exploits, I have the following note:
In Amble West Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of: J.W. Anderson, Chief Engineer Officer S.S. "Edwin T. Douglas" who died on 19th May 1944 age 56.

Was the Edwin T. Douglas attacked by the German navy or airforce?

Welcome to our community, Sidney.
Thank you for drawing my attention to this entry in The Douglas Archives. It looks like it could do with a bit of a tidy up.

It seems she was actually the Edwin T. Douglass

I am not clear who Edwin T. Douglass was. I do have a biography, but it was generated by AI and experience tells me that it is probably inaccurate.

Making conections

The more information you can give about the people you mention, the more chance there is of someone else connecting with your family.

Dates and places of births, deaths and marriages all help to place families.

Professions also help.

'My great-grandmother mother was a Douglas from Montrose' does not give many clues to follow up! But a bit of flesh on the bones makes further research possible. But if we are told who she married, what his profession was and where the children were baptised, then we can get to work.

Maybe it is time to update the information in your profile?
