I would be very interested in the Carrol connection, I tried a few years ago to see if there was a site, I was only there for about three years straight from the old orphanage. Was quite a strange feeling the first morning I woke up there as we never had wall paper in the old place.
Dave thank you for the request I sent an email to the site as I was ;unable to get past the reset password screen. Anyway I found my original password so am able to communicate. I was at the old orphanage from the age of 19months. I seem to remember there was a small boy there called Dave McGrath, not sure if that was you or not. There is a picture of him receiving the easter egg the one which cam from Woolies Mrs. Maclean is there also along with one of the Hutchison boys not sure which.
The more information you can give about the people you mention, the more chance there is of someone else connecting with your family.
Dates and places of births, deaths and marriages all help to place families.
Professions also help.
'My great-grandmother mother was a Douglas from Montrose' does not give many clues to follow up! But a bit of flesh on the bones makes further research possible. But if we are told who she married, what his profession was and where the children were baptised, then we can get to work.
Maybe it is time to update the information in your profile?
