Hello Moira,I remember Dagmar Liebmann as i used to play with her sometimes,but Mrs Ritchie did not like it but i don't seem to recall her having sisters,do you still have the pictures from the local newspapers,I think i saw your father once he was a small men with glasses or have i got this wrong,where are you living now? did you go down the cellar on wash day,myself i used to go in the cellar chopping kindling wood wtih Miss White and i got the impresion she was Mrs Ritchie sister .Miss White i liked but not Mrs Ritchie she would hit me with the wet towel if i go things wrong as i had to learn passages from the bible i had to resite it in the dinning room before dinner i don't know if you remember a boy having to stand on my chair with no food while everyone else ate i wore a green sweater and that is what they called me ,iwould be pleased to keep in touch not say too much at present for fear of boring you,stay safe looking forward to hearing from you soon.

Making conections

The more information you can give about the people you mention, the more chance there is of someone else connecting with your family.

Dates and places of births, deaths and marriages all help to place families.

Professions also help.

'My great-grandmother mother was a Douglas from Montrose' does not give many clues to follow up! But a bit of flesh on the bones makes further research possible. But if we are told who she married, what his profession was and where the children were baptised, then we can get to work.
