Chris,

Could you please clarify:

daughter Anne Reid was born 13 March 1775 in Cockpen. OPR for Cockpen, Ref 676/1
1775. Ann lawful Daughter to John Reid and Jean Douglas his spouse was born at
Dalhousie the 13th

Is Dalhousie in Cockpen Parish?  I should probably know - but I am not sure.

You have a Jean Douglass  1748. I have  Jean Douglass unknown birth date or place , but she would be about that age.  She married John Reid, also no documents found yet,  and their daughter Anne Reid was born 13 March 1775 in Cockpen. OPR for Cockpen, Ref 676/1
1775. Ann lawful Daughter to John Reid and Jean Douglas his spouse was born at
Dalhousie the 13th and baptised the 19the of March 1775 in presence of the
Congregation.
This gives her parents as John Reid and Jean Douglas. There is no record of John and Jean’s marriage. They also had sons named John (junior) and James.

Richard,

I had a root around for 'your' Marion, but was unable to trace her.

Do you have any more information?

Making conections

The more information you can give about the people you mention, the more chance there is of someone else connecting with your family.

Dates and places of births, deaths and marriages all help to place families.

Professions also help.

'My great-grandmother mother was a Douglas from Montrose' does not give many clues to follow up! But a bit of flesh on the bones makes further research possible. But if we are told who she married, what his profession was and where the children were baptised, then we can get to work.

Maybe it is time to update the information in your profile?
