DOUGLAS CHART all three Branches DRUMLANRIG , ANGUS , MORTON
this is all copied from a group I run Royal Stuart and Stewart Autosomal DNA , as many are Douglas desecendants also
so I finally got time without distractions (one of the few things the Lockdown offers)

I am starting to go methodically through the amazing Earls of Angus (ie Drumlanrig, Glenbervie , Morton Earls)

I had the honour of being offered to copy this chart (not an easy task)

by Robert Douglas the 2 x great grandson of the Sir Robert Douglas 3rd Bart , who wrote the Scottish Peerage, just before hes passed on at 93, I was fortunate to be Robert Douglases friend (Who lived near by) for 2 years and I had his DNA done, technically he should / could be a baronet, the last but it never got approval

it is mostly a Douglas chart but there is so many Stewart that I shall paste sections as I go Douglas and many other surnames we work with often here and many of you will have many of these lines in your trees

it is mostly a Douglas chart

but there is so many Stewart that I shall paste sections as I go

it covers a 3 metre length on my wall and a metre deep

and at that size is very hard to read

theres 1,000 of people on it

the Chart starts at top with William De Douglas 1114-

I will start at left on Drumlanrig lines

with Princess Mary Stewart Dau of King Robert

theres the Legend / key showing its a professionally done and researched work

and amazing piece of work to own , I improved on it put professionally photographing sections of it and seaming the pieces together< then having it enlarged to print off for a wall chart

but I find using the slider app on my PC the best way to read it, its too large to email, or post , but I could possibly have it professionally copied onto sticks and post for the cost of if anyone is interested, I could get tracked courier prices

Now for the lines down from
1: Sir James Douglas "The Good" to Scots but known as "The Black Douglas"
to English as they we terrified of him
was he and 2 others , a Sinclair who carried Robert the Bruces heart to the Holy land

2: Archibald Tyneman a few lots down
James Douglas II Earl of Queensberry who married Margaret Stewart , dau of 1st Earl of Traquair
Kelahead Fawsyde Johnstone
a few Sholtos and JAMAICA families

Jackie Stoddard I have posted 12 pieces of the Chart so all the DRUMLANRIG LINES DOWN incl many Stewart
tomorrow I will do all the ANGUS / Glenbervie lines (and thats bigger still as the Black Douglas morhped into the Red Douglas lines will be 25 odd pieces / sheets )if you print on A3 each piece you might be able to read?
and on Wednesday I shall do the MORTON lines
hold me to this promise so I dont get distracted
the shut down is the time for me to concentrate and get this project finally done
