Here is what I have on the Douglas.Gouglass line of mine.
John Douglas
b/1764 in either North or South Carolina USA md/Nancy Denman Walden d/1839 in Mississippi.
Jepthah Douglas
b/1808 in Georgia, m/Smith, d/1856 Mississippi
Andrew J Douglas
b/1829 d/1900 in Mississippi m/Bishop
Ellison Jeptha Douglas
b/1854 d/1936 m/English

the name Ellison comes from EJ's grandfather Ellison Bishop.

I am Ellison Jeptha's grandson thru his daughter Maude.

Welcome, Jim!

Do you know the relationship between the husband and wife? 1st cousin, perhaps? I do not have any record of this marriage, so it is an interesting area. Ellison is fairly unusual as a first name, so that should help - but it does not seem to yet.

Maybe someone here in out Community Network can help?

Making conections

'My great-grandmother mother was a Douglas from Montrose' does not give many clues to follow up! But a bit of flesh on the bones makes further research possible. But if we are told who she married, what his profession was and where the children were baptised, then we can get to work.
