Further research this year looks like the Scotti family was in two areas of Northern Italy but I cannot find a link to them.  The only link is the Douglas/Scotti Coat of Arms shows both families on it. This is where I am at, but no link found yet. Richard  L. Scotti ,USA  2023

Thank you, Richard!

I  researched  the Scotti line where they came to America  via San Francisco & settled in Albuquerque, New Mexico around 1873.. Going back from there I located Renzo Scotti in Switzerland who said his  grandmother had a coat of arms  over her door  there in Italy. The  coat of arms is what I have followed is a shield with a stripe top left to bottom right with a six pointed star  , one top right & one lower left bottom. Background is  blue, stars & stripe are white/silver.  Now to try & connect everything together.  Work in progress.  Hope this helps someone.  Richard L. Scotti, navy9crew@sbcglobal.net

Pavia is certainly not far from Piacenza, so there very likely are connections.

I note more on the family here:  http://risoscottiusa.com/our-story/

I have yet to prove the link between San Folco Scotti, bishop of Piacenza and Pavia and the Douglas-Scottis.

I see they are from Pavia. There is a Douglas Scotti connection to Pavia.

William, I certainly assumed that these Scotti's are connected to the Douglas Scotti's. Admittedly, it is only an assumption. I agree, the B&W images of the women in the rice fields are very interesting.

I wonder if this Scotti enterprise is connected to the Douglas Scotti family.
There are some very good images in this slideshow.

Here is a fun one, a satisfying little slideshow.

Making conections

The more information you can give about the people you mention, the more chance there is of someone else connecting with your family.

Dates and places of births, deaths and marriages all help to place families.

Professions also help.

'My great-grandmother mother was a Douglas from Montrose' does not give many clues to follow up! But a bit of flesh on the bones makes further research possible. But if we are told who she married, what his profession was and where the children were baptised, then we can get to work.

Maybe it is time to update the information in your profile?
