Welcome to our group, Levi.

I note that Robert, your father, was a gem miner in Orange Grove, Perth, Western Australia.

Do you know your grandfather's name? When did the family move to Australia?

Yours aye,

William

Yes Robert was my father he had 2 male twins , 1 myself , he was born in Hull Uk but my grandfather no name was born in glasow Scotland,

they moved to Australia in the early 60s my grandfather died aged 50 thats all the information my father said ,

my father did not have any contact with me until 2017 in early April after 44 years , he made contact to tell me he was dying ...we never met unfortunately.

however he spoke of 2 brothers , and his father, he did not mentioned his mother, apparently they owned a restaurant/ cafe in Adelaide in the late 50s my father favourite gem was Ruby .

we only taked about 5 times ..then he suddenly died ..no contact? No further information is obtained as unfortunate it may be..I hope to reconnect with my lost heritage oneday and pass the information to my kids too..

Thanks for the welcome Sir.

The more information you can give about the people you mention, the more chance there is of someone else connecting with your family.

Dates and places of births, deaths and marriages all help to place families.

Professions also help.

'My great-grandmother mother was a Douglas from Montrose' does not give many clues to follow up! But a bit of flesh on the bones makes further research possible. But if we are told who she married, what his profession was and where the children were baptised, then we can get to work.

Maybe it is time to update the information in your profile?
