Hi Steve,
There is a map of Douglas locations here: https://www.google.com/maps/ms?msid=203912042207921082858.0004ae76c...
It is work in progress, but should help find Douglas sites of historical interest.
Recommending accommodation is tricky without knowing budgets, etc. You can take in the Edinburgh Festival, which is enormous fun. But Edinburgh will be busy, so make sure you book in advance.
William
Thank you The information you sent is very informative I hope to be able to get to a lot of these sites seems there is never enough time, but this will help considerably Thank you very much Steve Albro
The more information you can give about the people you mention, the more chance there is of someone else connecting with your family.
Dates and places of births, deaths and marriages all help to place families.
Professions also help.
'My great-grandmother mother was a Douglas from Montrose' does not give many clues to follow up! But a bit of flesh on the bones makes further research possible. But if we are told who she married, what his profession was and where the children were baptised, then we can get to work.
Maybe it is time to update the information in your profile?
