Chinese export armorial charger with polychromed floral enamel decoration and motto. The top has a Scottish motto DOE OR DIE, an arm holding a broken tilting lance and a crown over a heart representing the Douglas clan. Retailed by Wm H. Plummer & Co., New York with original paper label. Made in China, circa late 18th-early 19th century.
