Ellwood Manor , Spotslyvania County , Virginia

As a teen , I used to work for the Youth Conservation Corps [YCC] , here at Ellwood Manor , Spotsylvania County , Virginia and at the surrounding battlefields ,we lived in tents in the woods at the top of the ridge to my Left . The small family plot , During the Civil War , this Farm was a field hospital for the Soldiers ,Gen Stonewall Jackson was to suffer what turned out to be mortal friendly fire , his arm was laid to rest here in this small family plot ,the General expired en route to Lexington

'My great-grandmother mother was a Douglas from Montrose' does not give many clues to follow up! But a bit of flesh on the bones makes further research possible. But if we are told who she married, what his profession was and where the children were baptised, then we can get to work.
