Enjoying the translations of these epitaph's. Was happy to find something of this "Il Farnese" poem.... not much out there. Then lo & behold a copy on eBay.

'HERE' is theTown Hall, Carpaneto Piacentino.

He was the son of Carlo Scotti Douglas, Conte di Vigoleno (1835-1895) - Lieutenant Colonel of Infantry in the Royal Army and Giuseppina Ramati, Nobile di Novara

I have this note:

Nobleman who wrote everything for pleasure, celebratory speeches, poems, comedies and song lyrics; he also wrote the words for a Hymn to the fallen fascists .
Was he killed by the Germans in 1945?

He wrote the theatrical poem "Il Farnese".

Which led me here:

Contessa Ippolita Douglas Scotti di Vigoleno, daughter of the noble commissioner of the San Giovanni neighborhood in the Corteo del Calcio Storico.

So, who is this noble commissioner?

Making conections

The more information you can give about the people you mention, the more chance there is of someone else connecting with your family.

Dates and places of births, deaths and marriages all help to place families.

Professions also help.

'My great-grandmother mother was a Douglas from Montrose' does not give many clues to follow up! But a bit of flesh on the bones makes further research possible. But if we are told who she married, what his profession was and where the children were baptised, then we can get to work.

Maybe it is time to update the information in your profile?
