It seems the Famiglia Chiapponi, really took to the unicorn symbol. If you'll notice, on their various, COA's. (red field with four horseshoes) The unicorn is usually present somewhere. Perhaps, the horseshoes were a natural fit with the unicorn? The crest for Famiglia Anguissola, is usually present also.
Looks like I accidentally forgot to add the A/ I also, saw a few other spelling variations for this family. Could not find much heraldry for this particular family. As for Douglas... lets not mention, Dowglas, Duglis, Duglassi & all the rest.
Same, with the unicorns. Rather handsome, in my opinion.
Chipponi or Chiapponi? As bad as the Douglas Douglass family!
I wonder if this was built after the Douglas Scotti Chiapponi marriage?
I think this is the first that I have seen with unicorns.
The more information you can give about the people you mention, the more chance there is of someone else connecting with your family.
Dates and places of births, deaths and marriages all help to place families.
Professions also help.
'My great-grandmother mother was a Douglas from Montrose' does not give many clues to follow up! But a bit of flesh on the bones makes further research possible. But if we are told who she married, what his profession was and where the children were baptised, then we can get to work.
Maybe it is time to update the information in your profile?
