Robert Douglas was a Scottish officer in Swedish service. He came in 1627 in Gustav 2 Adolf 's service as pasje . In 1657 he became a field marshal and made major conquests in Livland and Courland .
Among other things, Douglas took part in the battles of Leipzig in 1642 and Jankowitz in Bohemia in 1645, and in the Crab War against Denmark-Norway. From him descend the Swedish counts Douglas. Source: Norwegian Encyclopedia
