This is in addition to. The Cathedral lists, The Earl of Angus, Archibald Douglas for that shield you link to. That is why I did not list it as already accounted for. However, there is also listed, The Earl of Douglas, no holder in 1520. These two seem to be slightly out of numerical sequence. Plus, it shows, The Bishop of Argyll, David Hamilton.

That is very interesting in that I wonder if this is a new version to replace the one here:

which is also, or was, in St Machar's Cathedral.

Making conections

The more information you can give about the people you mention, the more chance there is of someone else connecting with your family.

Dates and places of births, deaths and marriages all help to place families.

Professions also help.

'My great-grandmother mother was a Douglas from Montrose' does not give many clues to follow up! But a bit of flesh on the bones makes further research possible. But if we are told who she married, what his profession was and where the children were baptised, then we can get to work.
