In 20o6, Pinewood Studios approached Douglas, to see if it could modify its aircraft tugs to travel at 50mph for an action scene in the James Bond movie, Casino Royale.

Its latest hi-tech aeroplane carrier, designed for the new giant Airbus A380, was borrowed for a scene in the film where an impressive new plane is delivered.

The tow tractors normally travel at 10mph and weigh up to 60 tonnes. They had to shed half the weight and add racing track engines to reach the required speed.

A team of six worked 18 hour days for six weeks to get the tractors ready.

Making conections

The more information you can give about the people you mention, the more chance there is of someone else connecting with your family.

Dates and places of births, deaths and marriages all help to place families.

Professions also help.

'My great-grandmother mother was a Douglas from Montrose' does not give many clues to follow up! But a bit of flesh on the bones makes further research possible. But if we are told who she married, what his profession was and where the children were baptised, then we can get to work.

Maybe it is time to update the information in your profile?
