So looking at other Scotti COA's for San Giorgio. It looks as if the unicorn at the crest may specific to the Scotti di San Giorgio.

History - Rocca di San Giorgio
An excellent example of a villa-fortress, the Rocca di San Giorgio Piacentino, attributed to the architect Vignola, was built at the end of the 16th century by Alessandro Anguissola of the San Giorgio branch.

Once the Anguissola family became extinct, the Rocca di San Giorgio passed in 1637 to the Marquis Fabio Scotti of Castelbosco, Count of San Giorgio, who after long works destined it as a summer residence.

In 1762 Count Paolo Scotti enclosed the fortress with a wall surrounding it with a stupendous park populated with fallow deer and deer . In 1820, upon the death of Count Paolo Scotti, his daughter Clelia brought the Rocca as a dowry to Count Ferdinando Negri della Torre. Her daughter Maria Negri della Torre, in turn, brought her as a dowry to Count Guido Gazzola di Settima .

The Rocca di San Giorgio is still inhabited today by the Gazzola family : Paola with her children Leonardo and Matteo

Making conections

The more information you can give about the people you mention, the more chance there is of someone else connecting with your family.

Dates and places of births, deaths and marriages all help to place families.

Professions also help.

'My great-grandmother mother was a Douglas from Montrose' does not give many clues to follow up! But a bit of flesh on the bones makes further research possible. But if we are told who she married, what his profession was and where the children were baptised, then we can get to work.

Maybe it is time to update the information in your profile?
