Thank you, Russell. I have no illusions that the translator is 100% on point. On other items of interest, I have needed to take words that it would only copy, and run them individually through another translator process to get a translation. My gut tells me there is no actual connection between the Ilocano language & this plaque.

Most Ilokanos are Roman Catholics, while a significant number belong to the Aglipayan Church, which originated in Ilocos Norte. Catholicism in the Philippines combines belief in patron saints with belief in supernatural forces ... I don't know anything about these folks Jackson , the translator detected Ilocano .... Just sayin .

There may well be a typo? Whether the error is in the translation or the info added by the site (or both?) I do not know. The translator can often translate something in an "unusual" way. Case in point the word "naughty" is found in this translation.  I don't believe for a moment that is in any way correct. Let me look closer.

This seems to be dated 1742, so not the Ranuccio whose portraits are dated 1781 and 1786

Making conections

The more information you can give about the people you mention, the more chance there is of someone else connecting with your family.

Dates and places of births, deaths and marriages all help to place families.

Professions also help.

'My great-grandmother mother was a Douglas from Montrose' does not give many clues to follow up! But a bit of flesh on the bones makes further research possible. But if we are told who she married, what his profession was and where the children were baptised, then we can get to work.

Maybe it is time to update the information in your profile?
