Mormons have hidden ,lost or destroyed records concerning  Margaret Arnot , My cousin Bonnie has no reason to lie to me - she is the one who got me interested in genealogy. My Grandparents certainly had no reason to ''invent'' a non existant woman and then provide me with a photograph. I have taken the LDS to task over the non existent pioneer John Drysdale - they had records that they refused to look at concerning John Drysdale. Is it any surprise that the information in Bonnies email is no longer available ? No not at all . In this whirlpool of confusion one thing remains constant Mormon stiffnecks dictating the narrative...

Given at least 12 year old email from Bonnie

with at least 20 year [or more] old information at the least

adds up to 32 year old information ;  2022- 32=1990-ish

If one looks back at articles like this one ...

This excerpt is from a 1993 LDS article from

Church News Archives  titled

''Extraction effort will speed work of redeeming dead''

...''For the past six years, members in hundreds of stakes throughout North America have been examining records of temple ordinances performed prior to 1970. That was the year the Church began using computers to keep track of the ordinances as they were performed. Called Family Record Extraction, the effort was inaugurated in 1987 as a means of bringing those pre-1970 temple records into the Church's database of computerized temple records, the International Genealogical Index (IGI).''...

Bonnie clearly states and provides the record numbers ''In a submission for John to do his temple work he need to fill out a TIB (Temple Index Bureau) he lists his mother as Margaret & his dad as James. I found no indication that it was Christina Arnot as the wife and mother.''

This information  comes from an email from more than 12 years ago.

I have had some time to look up my notes on James Drysdale & Margaret Arnot.  Years ago, 20 or more, I looked up microfilm on these two.

  The film is 1040104 7& C114145 frame 351.

Marriage is #1040153 Items 3&4 and microfilm 102172.

This also shows Margaret's Birth.  John Drysdale was from Penkridge parish records and

Cedar Fort, Utah church records Film #025566.  In a submission for John to do his

temple work he need to fill out a TIB (Temple Index Bureau)  he lists his mother as Margaret & his dad as James.

I found no indication that it was Christina Arnot as the wife and mother.

To start the new year - with an old dispute , as I said below

''if you reference Pioneers and Prominent Men of Utah Margaret Arnot  is misspelled as Margaret Arnold'' as you see below - also other TYPESETTING ERRORS were made  .Such ommitions are human yet- create disinformation- so in an effort to set this straight .

''Nora'' is actually Emma Lenore Drysdale had 2 Spouses ,the first fellow was named John Jesse Trimmer ,
the second fellow was named Walter Samuel Knight but  ''Nora'' never married Freemont Cook , her sister Rose Minette Drysdale married Mr Cook . Also notice  John Drysdale  named his oldest child  .. Margaret ! Gee I wonder why ?

Could it be-

the process of dictating the narrative on who is who isn't  exactly true ?

My grandparents  provided this photo  handed down to me, this is the woman who John Drysdale had listed as his mother - Margaret Arnot - when he filed his TIB [ mormon term for Temple Index Bureau]  if you reference  Pioneers and Prominent Men of UtahMargaret Arnot - is misspelled as Margaret Arnold    In the past 40 years these hallowed mormon records have been re-indexed 3 times at least . In the process of dictating the narrative on who is who - and what the cookie cutter LDS image appears to be - one cannot  have questionable relationships popping up here n there - according to the current cookie cutter - Christine Arnot is John Drysdale's mother . I am sure we all know our own mothers names  Atleast those fortunate enough to have known our mothers.

In my understanding this re indexing work was done by unpaid volunteers . These same unpaid volunteers told me A . John Drysdale did not exist B . John Drysdale never settled in Utah - C. John Drysdale went on to California never to return  and I made them eat every word .                               John Drysdale the non existent  pioneer is now listed in the overland travel data base .

And then to ice the cake the Mormon's took credit for every resource and record I provided !!!

I don't envy them the task - however they were wrong about John Drysdale , They're just as wrong about Margaret Arnot .

Making conections

The more information you can give about the people you mention, the more chance there is of someone else connecting with your family.

Dates and places of births, deaths and marriages all help to place families.

Professions also help.

'My great-grandmother mother was a Douglas from Montrose' does not give many clues to follow up! But a bit of flesh on the bones makes further research possible. But if we are told who she married, what his profession was and where the children were baptised, then we can get to work.

Maybe it is time to update the information in your profile?
