Hooper Killing Case
The further examination of the
Moores at Ogden for the killing of
James Drysdale at Hooper a week
ago last Sunday was resumed on
Monday Peter Moore jr who did
the shooting was put on the stand
and took the ground of self defense
Both he and his father testified that
James Drysdale struck young Moore
on the head with a spade before he
shot and according to the Pilot the
young man exhibited the wound
thus said to have been inflicted
The wound shows a mark
one and three fourths inches
long on the forehead over the right
eye the skin being cut for about an
inch This according to the
defendants testimony was inflicted
with a spade by James Drysdale in
the melee which resulted in the shooting .

Making conections

The more information you can give about the people you mention, the more chance there is of someone else connecting with your family.

Dates and places of births, deaths and marriages all help to place families.

Professions also help.

'My great-grandmother mother was a Douglas from Montrose' does not give many clues to follow up! But a bit of flesh on the bones makes further research possible. But if we are told who she married, what his profession was and where the children were baptised, then we can get to work.
