Hi Brendan ,
Ive send you an freind request, I have many Hamilton DNA matches (mostly Ireland) I think they link to the Irish Stewart / Stuart lines
and I'm of descent from  Douglas earls of Angus , Glenbervie descent
I also believe it or not am the 5 x Great grand daughter of Charles Edward Stuart
n a closed and private facebk group for descendants of royal Stewart
and I am researching all people who claim descent also , 5 are already members
I DNA match 5 other descendant too
seams Charles was similar to his Great uncle Charles II "The Merry King"

one DNA match that Claims descent from Charles Edward Stuart is a member her
Hamish also ckaims cheiftain of McDonald
yet it appears it was his mother that was the McDonald , via Hamishs My Heritage family tree (I shall check out his tree here)
Hopeful Willaim Douglas , you have reinstated my tree/ direct lines ?
I'm wondering if you could help me Brendan , with the Hamilton / Stewart ? Douglas Irish lines?
regards Jackie

Making conections

The more information you can give about the people you mention, the more chance there is of someone else connecting with your family.

Dates and places of births, deaths and marriages all help to place families.

Professions also help.

'My great-grandmother mother was a Douglas from Montrose' does not give many clues to follow up! But a bit of flesh on the bones makes further research possible. But if we are told who she married, what his profession was and where the children were baptised, then we can get to work.

Maybe it is time to update the information in your profile?
