Thanks for the picture of the Drumlanrig Douglas Coat of Arms. I will use it and give you credit for it. It was what I was looking for.

William Douglas gave me your name and said you may help me. I was needing a picture of a Drumlanrig Douglas coat of arms. I have a website called "The Dark Stream - The Douglas Family Story on Wixsite.com. And I am wanting to place a Drumlanrig Coat of Arms on my site. I have Marguess of Queenberry one on there from Wikipedia and free respository site. But I am wanting one maybe from around the 1400's? My e-mail to send it to, if you have one I could use, is silasdouglas4058@yahoo.com      Thanks

I was just taking your advice about this site and am trying to do some research on my grandfather and trying to track him back to when our part of the Douglas came to America and how. I have a feeling since all of my uncles and aunts are gone I am not going to have an easy time of it. I had heard one of my uncles had a lot of this information but he had not spoken to anyof us in years and had no plans to. Sadly he is gone now.

You are very welcome, Harold.

There is a short video that will help you make best use of this network, and also some notes that I hope will also prove useful.

It would be good if you could keep us up to date with happenings in the CDSNA - details of events and any photos from those events would be welcome.

I was on the CDSNA mailing list at one point, but seem to have dropped off that. I am not a CDAA member.

Yours aye,

William

Making conections

The more information you can give about the people you mention, the more chance there is of someone else connecting with your family.

Dates and places of births, deaths and marriages all help to place families.

Professions also help.

'My great-grandmother mother was a Douglas from Montrose' does not give many clues to follow up! But a bit of flesh on the bones makes further research possible. But if we are told who she married, what his profession was and where the children were baptised, then we can get to work.

Maybe it is time to update the information in your profile?
