Profile Information

Which Douglas line are you researching? Dates and places help making connections.
Black Douglas (I assume)
Who is your earliest known Douglas ancestor?
Edith Douglas

Not much to work on...

My Gramma, Edith Douglas, was bord on February 22nd, 1931 in Canada. I believe her family lived in the area located in the south of Quebec near both Ontario and United-States borders. Maybe in the village of Godmanchester or near that sector.

She was the daughter of George Douglas and Pamela Vaillancourt. She also had many siblings. But not so many whom I remember: Eunice, Floyd, and that other guy with the big thick black glasses... (I know, no help there...)

She was married three times: Unknown first husband, Antoine Durocher & Urbain Laframboise

She had 2 daughters from her first marriage: Aline and Alice

She had 7 children from her second marriage: Denis, Claude, André, Maurice, Claudette, Rachel & Denise.

In the '70s, she worked as a sales representative for ''Fashion 2-20'' a cosmetic company located in Pointe-Claire Quebec.

Finally, she was a pretty neat Gramma :)

Now... where did this all start?? Help me figure it out please :)

Welcome to our group, Linda.

If you can put dates and places to your ancestor, then there is more chance that one of your 'cousins' may be able to link into your family, and so help you with yours.

Yours aye,

William

Making conections

The more information you can give about the people you mention, the more chance there is of someone else connecting with your family.

Dates and places of births, deaths and marriages all help to place families.

Professions also help.

'My great-grandmother mother was a Douglas from Montrose' does not give many clues to follow up! But a bit of flesh on the bones makes further research possible. But if we are told who she married, what his profession was and where the children were baptised, then we can get to work.

Maybe it is time to update the information in your profile?
