Profile Information

Which Douglas line are you researching? Dates and places help making connections.
My great grand father Walter Douglas, begat Edward Douglas who lived and died in East Lothan. I don't know much beyond that for the moment. I've yet to establish any further ancestry. I'm looking to establish my own line through DNA test and research.
Who is your earliest known Douglas ancestor?
Andrew Walter Douglas

Welcome to our community, Michael.

I have found some of the various Douglas lines in East Lothian tricky to unravel.

Perhaps if you were to enter more details of births, deaths, marriages and professions it might help identify your ancestors.

Yours aye,

William

PS Look for an email from me.

Making conections

The more information you can give about the people you mention, the more chance there is of someone else connecting with your family.

Dates and places of births, deaths and marriages all help to place families.

Professions also help.

'My great-grandmother mother was a Douglas from Montrose' does not give many clues to follow up! But a bit of flesh on the bones makes further research possible. But if we are told who she married, what his profession was and where the children were baptised, then we can get to work.

Maybe it is time to update the information in your profile?
