Welcome to our community, Shannon.

Is this the George Fountain Douglas who was born on 2 January 1813, in Bridgewater, Rockingham, Virginia, United States, son of William G Douglass and Susannah H Davis?
I have not yet included this line in the genealogy database, so need to work on that!

Sadly, my web host is not providing a reliable service at the moment, so I have set up an alternative here:

I do have a Fountain C. Douglas Douglas (That cannot be right?) and wonder if there is a connection.  Loks like there is work to to there as well.

Yours aye,

William

Making conections

The more information you can give about the people you mention, the more chance there is of someone else connecting with your family.

Dates and places of births, deaths and marriages all help to place families.

Professions also help.

'My great-grandmother mother was a Douglas from Montrose' does not give many clues to follow up! But a bit of flesh on the bones makes further research possible. But if we are told who she married, what his profession was and where the children were baptised, then we can get to work.

Maybe it is time to update the information in your profile?
