A collection of historical and genalogical records
I shall show that Isabella wife of Edmund Bowman of Middlesex County was a daughter of Isabella, sister of both Sir Thomas Dale and Richard Dale. I reiterate that Isabella Bowman, daughter of Edmond Bowman of Middlesex Co, married both Lt Edward Douglas as well as the Rev Thomas Teackle.(As I stated above Edmond Bowman married Isabella Dale, sister of both Sir Thomas Dale and Richard Dale.)
Sir Thomas Dale sailed for Virginia with a flotilla of three ships in March 1611. Before leaving for the East Indies he wrote his will in 1617. In his will he calls himself 'Thomas Dale of London'. In all other records he is Thomas Dale of Stepney in Middlesex Co. Thomas Dale assumed the title of Admiral while heading for the Far East.(King James 1 knighted Sir Thomas in Richmond in 1606 We may presume Sir Thomas was born in Surrey County as King James 1 had made reference to Thomas of Surry when he was knighted. This was a highly unusual concessionj by King James. Place names were usually reserved for barons. Note, too, that Surrey is just East of Hampshire. Near the border with Surrey is a hamlet called Whiscuss later why her will was invalid.techurch. In hew will which I shall discuss later, she left all of 'Dale;s Gift' to William Shriimpton of Whitechurch in Hampshire County, I shall discuss her will later.
