Children of Obediah Hunt and Margaret M. Nottingham

Children of Obediah Hunt and Margaret M. Nottingham This is the 8th generation from Capt William Willett. All the children were born and were buried at Hunt's Place in Northampton Co. In July 1839 the Northampton County Court appointed Joakim Wilkins, Jr., the guardian of the minor children, Alfred T. Hunt and Washington Hunt. It is unusual to find the widow of Hillary Hunt, Delitha Luker was to marry Joakim Wilkins, Sr. and then have the widow of Obediah Hunt, Margaret M. Nottingham, marrying Joakim Wilkins, Jr.

1) Margaret Hunt, born 1822, died March 1837

Alfred T. Hunt drowned off Old Point Dock, in late summer of !839. Alfred was a student at The Hampton Academy at the time of this tragic occurrence. 12 Oct 1840 the Northampton County Court ordered Joakim Wilkins to reimburse the amount of Washington Hunt;s Account, for expenses paid by Washington Hunt's Account for Alfred Hunt's burial. Making conections

The more information you can give about the people you mention, the more chance there is of someone else connecting with your family.

Dates and places of births, deaths and marriages all help to place families.

Professions also help.

'My great-grandmother mother was a Douglas from Montrose' does not give many clues to follow up! But a bit of flesh on the bones makes further research possible. But if we are told who she married, what his profession was and where the children were baptised, then we can get to work.

Maybe it is time to update the information in your profile?
