My interpreation of the family story:
Adela Ortega Romo de Vivar Douglas was born in 1879 in the bustling town of Gómez Palacio, Durango, Mexico.
In 1897, she married José Guadalupe Ortega, a native of Noria de La Trinidad in Aguascalientes.
Adela became the mother of two sons:
- Edmundo Ortega Douglas, whose life extended into the mid-20th century, dying in February 1969.
- Luis Ortega Douglas, born in Aguascalientes, whose life story remains partly obscured, though it is known he has since died.
Adela’s died in 1941 at the age of 62.
Ahhhh....I see. Thank you kindly for the reply.
Now, I think its time for some coffee! Best, J.
Hello Ruaidri, Adela Douglas was the daughter of John Douglas and Simona del Carmen Valecia, from his second marriage. Guadalupe Ortega was her husband. I did not add this information because it has already been included.
Hi Iliana, bienvenidos!
This is a nice photo... I'm just a bit confused. The names in the photo are different from the names given in the discription.
The more information you can give about the people you mention, the more chance there is of someone else connecting with your family.
Dates and places of births, deaths and marriages all help to place families.
Professions also help.
'My great-grandmother mother was a Douglas from Montrose' does not give many clues to follow up! But a bit of flesh on the bones makes further research possible. But if we are told who she married, what his profession was and where the children were baptised, then we can get to work.
Maybe it is time to update the information in your profile?
