William, I'm glad you enjoyed i!. Sorry for the slow reply.
These attributes you list are more in line with what I have read of the pelican symbol.
Thank you for this film.. Now I must seek out others in the series!
A heraldic pelican usually infers:
Self‑sacrifice — the pelican wounds her breast to feed her young.
Charity and care for dependents — idealised noble behaviour.
Christ‑like devotion — medieval bestiaries interpreted the pelican’s act as a symbol of Christ’s sacrifice.
Ecclesiastical virtue — widely used by bishops, abbeys, and families with strong church ties.
So, the film's reference does seem off centre.
The more information you can give about the people you mention, the more chance there is of someone else connecting with your family.
Dates and places of births, deaths and marriages all help to place families.
Professions also help.
'My great-grandmother mother was a Douglas from Montrose' does not give many clues to follow up! But a bit of flesh on the bones makes further research possible. But if we are told who she married, what his profession was and where the children were baptised, then we can get to work.
Maybe it is time to update the information in your profile?
