A collection of historical and genalogical records
Off the top, credit for finding this gem goes to Ronald Drysdale, who has once again proven his worth in the research field, My hat is off to you Ronald.
----
In 1853 brothers John Drysdale, James Drysdale Jr, Thomas Drysdale and Andrew Drysdale left from Liverpool to New Orleans on the ship Elvira Owens , in 1855 their Parents James Drysdale Sr, Christiana Arnott Drysdale, and sister Margaret Drysdale made the passage from Liverpool to New York on the ship Samuel Curling, their destination was listed as Salt Lake City Utah.
The John Drysdale listed above is my Immigrant ancestor.Aside from John not much was known of the others, aside from Thomas Drysdale [again credit to Ronald] Then, using AI assisted reading program He Pulled up this Document which is about 8 pages of handwritten information, and it is a nugget.
*This paragraph below lists everyone in this family except Christiana, however she is mentioned earlier on as ''Ann''.
...''Know all men by these presents that the John Drysdale and [blank space] the Wife of the said John Drysdale of Cedar Valley in the Territory of Utah and Margaret Barker and John Barker Husband of the said Margaret Barker of the County of St Louis and State of Missouri Have this day for and in consideration of the Sum of One Dollar to the said John Drysdale and Margaret Barker parties of the first part, in
hand paid by Thomas Drysdale of the County of Stoddard and State of Missouri and James Drysdale and Andrew Drysdale of the County of Ripley and State of Missouri Granted Bargained and Sold and by these presents do Grant Bargain and Sell unto the said parties of the Second part Thomas Drysdale,James Drysdale and Andrew Drysdale, and by these presents do release remise and forever quitclaim unto the said parties of the Second part all our right Title and interest in and to the Real Estate of Our Father James Drysdale''...
James Drysdale Sr. passed from this life in 1873 and it took until 1881 for this to be completed, Emma [Clark] Drysdale not being named in the party of the first part seems to be a probable cause for a partial delay.
Thank you once again Ronald Drysdale.

The more information you can give about the people you mention, the more chance there is of someone else connecting with your family.
Dates and places of births, deaths and marriages all help to place families.
Professions also help.
'My great-grandmother mother was a Douglas from Montrose' does not give many clues to follow up! But a bit of flesh on the bones makes further research possible. But if we are told who she married, what his profession was and where the children were baptised, then we can get to work.
Maybe it is time to update the information in your profile?
