Kess, I am a living descendant of William and Ann Douglas(s). Have been working a lot recently on his early days in the Massachusetts Bay Colony. There is a question on whether there were one or two William Douglases in MBC 1640-1660. I am also pretty well convinced that the Boston land owner William was the brother of Henry Douglas, also in Boston in that time. Any comments? You are probably aware that there is a group of male descendants trying to sort out the DNA evidence they share.

Welcome to our community network, Kess.

There is a group for descendants of William and Ann, which you might consider joining. This is one of the Douglas mysteries, which we would all be delighted if we could achieve a breakthrough.

If you can help me with additional information on Ann and Elizabeth, then I would be very grateful.

yours aye,

William

Making conections

The more information you can give about the people you mention, the more chance there is of someone else connecting with your family.

Dates and places of births, deaths and marriages all help to place families.

Professions also help.

'My great-grandmother mother was a Douglas from Montrose' does not give many clues to follow up! But a bit of flesh on the bones makes further research possible. But if we are told who she married, what his profession was and where the children were baptised, then we can get to work.

Maybe it is time to update the information in your profile?
