The top of the letter may have answers .... the drawing is clearly a  blueprint of sorts.

I asked Ton Franken to translate  the visible part of the letter  '' … establish. The architect, too, needs a climate for the development of his sense of proportions, a climate that he must create himself to surround himself with good specimens. In a world of misinformation in this field he will have to find strong examples to purify his direct surroundings. This will ensure a fruitful interplay between our individual lives and the environment in which we live with. ''

Making conections

The more information you can give about the people you mention, the more chance there is of someone else connecting with your family.

Dates and places of births, deaths and marriages all help to place families.

Professions also help.

'My great-grandmother mother was a Douglas from Montrose' does not give many clues to follow up! But a bit of flesh on the bones makes further research possible. But if we are told who she married, what his profession was and where the children were baptised, then we can get to work.
