'' Mrs Drysdale, the young wife of a well known trader, was described as ‘a lady of mixed European and Chinese parentage’, reflecting the long history of Portuguese, Dutch and Chinese settlement
in Timor. Her grandfather, a Eurasian born on the island, had been employed by the Dutch as Governor, and given her position in the community she was able to meet many European visitors including Alfred Russel Wallace.''
The Description given above seems to fit Nettije Hazaart , the Mrs Drysdale Anna Forbes wrote about in her book ''Insulinde ; Experiences of a Naturalist s Wife in the Eastern Archipelago'' Reference pages 49,50,51

He is today best known for his detailed paintings and sketches which give a unique insight into colonial life in southern Africa and Australia.
