Profile Information

Which Douglas line are you researching? Dates and places help making connections.
I am a researcher after reading A J Rogers books in the 70s about the Black Nobility in Europe in his book "Sex & Race" and Nature knows no colour line 1911.
To my surprise I found the name Sholto Douglas 767AD In Scotland
The Italian source Synopsis de la genealogia de la antiquissima y nobilissima familia Brigantina o Douglas
by Pineda, Pedro 1754. This is another interesting book that states that the name Brigantes/Douglas are connected.
Who is your earliest known Douglas ancestor?
My Father, Edward Joseph Douglas

Hi, Clarice,

I would like to think that there would be another Douglas Clan Gathering, but it would not be organised by me.

We had the most enormous fun, with super people all enjoying a common bond.

But it is not something that I have the energy to be able to repeat.

All information that I have would be available to anyone else who is prepared to step up.

Yours aye,

William

Welcome to our community, Clarice
First, please note that you have put your home address where we ask for a website address.  You should consider removing this (The Settings button on the right of the page is where to go to do this).
I suggest that you have a look at some of the Italian pages to follow up your research: http://www.douglashistory.co.uk/history/families/italy.html
Yours aye,

William

Making conections

The more information you can give about the people you mention, the more chance there is of someone else connecting with your family.

Dates and places of births, deaths and marriages all help to place families.

Professions also help.

'My great-grandmother mother was a Douglas from Montrose' does not give many clues to follow up! But a bit of flesh on the bones makes further research possible. But if we are told who she married, what his profession was and where the children were baptised, then we can get to work.

Maybe it is time to update the information in your profile?
