Profile Information

Which Douglas line are you researching? Dates and places help making connections.
I am DNA coordinator for the Snipes Family of America. Our Y-DNA project on FTDNA for Snipes patrilineal research has closest matches for my branch showing as descendants of George Washington Douglass, 1790-1852. There are several Douglas descendants who are matches of 3 steps and above at 67 markers, 4 steps and above at 111. I have been seeking more information to find the connection between the line of George Washington Douglass and my ggg-grandfather, Elem Snipes (1810 NC-1892 WA), whose parentage is unknown but who was raised as a Snipes.
Who is your earliest known Douglas ancestor?
Unknown
Tags/keywords - used to help people find you
North Carolina, Snipes
dna haplotype
R-M512, R-M198

Making conections

The more information you can give about the people you mention, the more chance there is of someone else connecting with your family.

Dates and places of births, deaths and marriages all help to place families.

Professions also help.

'My great-grandmother mother was a Douglas from Montrose' does not give many clues to follow up! But a bit of flesh on the bones makes further research possible. But if we are told who she married, what his profession was and where the children were baptised, then we can get to work.

Maybe it is time to update the information in your profile?
