David Douglas of St Vigeans, Angus (1777- c1855)

David Douglas of St Vigeans, Angus (1777- c1855) Driver, Royal Artillery Corps from 1794-1815. Served 20 years in East or West India Services

The above entry has been added to the page listing Douglas surnames in Wikipedia.  However, there is no entry for this David Douglas. Perhaps this is not surprising, as he was apparently a driver in the Royal Artillery, and so is unlikely to have had a biography written about him.

But who was he? Can anyone throw any light on him?

Making conections

The more information you can give about the people you mention, the more chance there is of someone else connecting with your family.

Dates and places of births, deaths and marriages all help to place families.

Professions also help.

'My great-grandmother mother was a Douglas from Montrose' does not give many clues to follow up! But a bit of flesh on the bones makes further research possible. But if we are told who she married, what his profession was and where the children were baptised, then we can get to work.

Maybe it is time to update the information in your profile?
