The Clan Douglas Association of Australia was established on December 3, 1986 in Brisbane.
Aims and Objectives of the Association: To act as a representative body of Douglases and septs. To encourage genealogical research and documentation of Douglas history.
To promote fellowship amongst members.
To establish and maitain contact with other Douglas associations throughout the world.
We invite you and your family to join this Association. We ask you especially to support the committee and help us bring together people of Douglas Ancestry, Sept families and other connections, from all over Australia, New Zealand, and the World.
By becoming a member of the Clan Douglas Association of Australia you will receive:
•A quarterly newletter by post or email •Access to family history research through our Genealogical Coordinator •Opportunities to meet with other members of the Clan •Access to the CDAA Website where you can: •download back issues of newsletters •discuss Douglas family history with other members •Keep up to date with CDAA and related events
Is your last name Douglas? Are you married to a Douglas? Were you a Douglas before you married? Do you want to know more about your family? Are you a sept of Douglas? Join Clan Douglas Association of Australia.
The more information you can give about the people you mention, the more chance there is of someone else connecting with your family.
Dates and places of births, deaths and marriages all help to place families.
Professions also help.
'My great-grandmother mother was a Douglas from Montrose' does not give many clues to follow up! But a bit of flesh on the bones makes further research possible. But if we are told who she married, what his profession was and where the children were baptised, then we can get to work.
Maybe it is time to update the information in your profile?
