Ian Douglas told me something I didn't know -it appears there are 2 places named Todrig - one near Kelso , and this one near Selkirk - I had to find the Latin story about Alexander de Synton to be sure which area was the correct one. [ Later Ronald Drysdale would find Ingebald possible grandfather of Hugh de Drysdale had land in Kelso as well.]

  The Latin version cleared things up. The Sheriffs of Selkirk from Sir Andrew de Synton, first made Sheriff by William the Lion in 1214 or before, down to the last of the line to hold that office (Sir Alexander, d. before 1293) I wish these records had proper dates on them.
