Profile Information

Which Douglas line are you researching? Dates and places help making connections.
I believe the Drysdale Clan goes back to the 1400's , so I would be looking for their descendants.
Who is your earliest known Douglas ancestor?
James Drysdale BD 1789 Glasgow

Hi Jeffrey, this has nothing to do with the Douglas. It is, but I think it is interesting what your name is. When I was 17 years old in 1954. I was stationed with the U.S. Navy at Monterey, California. I was assigned to the line crew. We were pre-flying airplanes for flight. I was assigned to the second class Petty Ofc. by the name of Drysdale. I owe a lot of my success in the world to Petty Ofc. Drysdale he taught me things that I have used all my life and I have never been able to find it again. The thanking him he would be quite old now as I am 75 and I thought he was an old man at the time. So I like to take this opportunity to thank the Drysdale family for this man. Sincerely, Jack

Making conections

The more information you can give about the people you mention, the more chance there is of someone else connecting with your family.

Dates and places of births, deaths and marriages all help to place families.

Professions also help.

'My great-grandmother mother was a Douglas from Montrose' does not give many clues to follow up! But a bit of flesh on the bones makes further research possible. But if we are told who she married, what his profession was and where the children were baptised, then we can get to work.

Maybe it is time to update the information in your profile?
