There are various family trees here:   http://www.douglashistory.co.uk/history/Familytrees/index.html

You can search through the genealogy database for your ancestors and work out relationships here: http://www.douglashistory.co.uk/famgen/ Put in you earliest known ancestor (assuming I have the details) and then use the relationship tab to connect to Bruce. Close relationships show up quickly; distant ones will take time to compute - al depending on the speed of your connection to the web.

William,

I see mention of DNA here has it ruled any Douglas lines out? My great grandmother told my mother now gone as well that we were from Robert the Bruce via her Douglas line.

What is the facts?

Making conections

The more information you can give about the people you mention, the more chance there is of someone else connecting with your family.

Dates and places of births, deaths and marriages all help to place families.

Professions also help.

'My great-grandmother mother was a Douglas from Montrose' does not give many clues to follow up! But a bit of flesh on the bones makes further research possible. But if we are told who she married, what his profession was and where the children were baptised, then we can get to work.

Maybe it is time to update the information in your profile?
