Hello Carman, I have researched the John Douglas family you refer to in an attempt to make a connection but had no luck. I really would have liked to as that family is so interesting. JaneContinue
Hello Jane.. Well you are born not far from where I was born. Have you check New Brunswick archives. Since you join this site have you been able to find relatives? I can only check once in a while online here ans there. Sometime I question family. Not long ago my mom told me that my grand-ma Marianne kept this old lady named Mary Drysdale in a room in the house. She told me she was very old and frail. This Mary Drysdale is probably an aunt on my grand ma's side(my father's side). I followed the lead only so much. I hope to look into it further. Mary Drysdale was a very small quiet, nice lady and my older sister remember her well.
The more information you can give about the people you mention, the more chance there is of someone else connecting with your family.
Dates and places of births, deaths and marriages all help to place families.
Professions also help.
'My great-grandmother mother was a Douglas from Montrose' does not give many clues to follow up! But a bit of flesh on the bones makes further research possible. But if we are told who she married, what his profession was and where the children were baptised, then we can get to work.
Maybe it is time to update the information in your profile?
