It was indeed a very exciting race.
Do we have any details on her family's early history?
Details, so far:
• Kate is the daughter of Allison and William Douglass. She has a younger sister, Abby, and a younger brother, Will.
• Katherine Cadwallader Douglass is an American competitive swimmer who competes in many events. Kate won her first major international medal at the 2020 Olympic Games with a bronze in the 200 m individual medley.
• The two-time Olympian completed a bachelor’s degree in statistics in 2023 and is now pursuing a master’s degree in the same field.
• Born: 17 November 2001 (age 22 years), Pelham, New York, United States
We just watched Kate Douglass win the Olympic Gold medal in the 200 Breast Stroke! It was a crazy close race from start to finish but Kate took the lead at 50 meters and held on for the win! I don't know if I am related to Kate or not, but it is nice to root for a Douglass. I am now and forever a super fan of Kate Douglass. My grandson, Cameron Lee is a junior at Truman State University and a member of their Swim Team. His dream is to compete in the 2028 Olympics.
Wow! Nice to know that we have a Champion Swimmer in the Douglas Clan! Congratulations to Kate Douglass on all her outstanding achievements! I have a grandson that is a swimmer at Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri. Cameron Lee has been swimming competitively since he was 7 years old. His dream is to swim in the Olympics. It is so wonderful to know that Kate has reached her dream. I am so very proud of her!
The more information you can give about the people you mention, the more chance there is of someone else connecting with your family.
Dates and places of births, deaths and marriages all help to place families.
Professions also help.
'My great-grandmother mother was a Douglas from Montrose' does not give many clues to follow up! But a bit of flesh on the bones makes further research possible. But if we are told who she married, what his profession was and where the children were baptised, then we can get to work.
Maybe it is time to update the information in your profile?
