A collection of historical and genalogical records
It gives me great pleasure to inform you that the Clan Douglas Society of Australia is now formally open.
Attendees to the first general meeting are pictured left to right Mrs Anne Bruest, Mrs Janine Warren and Andrew Douglas.
There were a number of apologies from those unable to attend and the meeting was very kindly attended by Mr Malcolm Buchanan of the Scottish Australian Heritage Council, whom provided valued advice and support.
Membership to the Clan Douglas Society of Australia is free and available to everyone associated with Clan Douglas Australia-wide.
If you want to join the Clan Douglas Society of Australia please link through their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/clandouglasaustralia/.
The next meeting will be held in early 2017.
Clan Douglas 'Jamias Arriere'.
The more information you can give about the people you mention, the more chance there is of someone else connecting with your family.
Dates and places of births, deaths and marriages all help to place families.
Professions also help.
'My great-grandmother mother was a Douglas from Montrose' does not give many clues to follow up! But a bit of flesh on the bones makes further research possible. But if we are told who she married, what his profession was and where the children were baptised, then we can get to work.
Maybe it is time to update the information in your profile?
