Douglas pipers wanted for the World’s Biggest Pipe-a-long!

Piping Live!, the Glasgow International Piping Festival will be back from 6-12 August.

We’re looking for Douglas pipers to join the World’s Biggest Pipe-a-long!

Watch the video of Roddy MacLeod  to give you details of playing ‘When the Pipers Play’.

All we need you to do is film yourself playing the same tune click here for the music and please send your video as .mov file to: info@wire-media.co.uk and if you have any questions feel free to ask.

If you live somewhere with an iconic landmark (Sydney Opera House, London Bridge, CN Tower, Grouse Mountain, Statue of Liberty, Louvre etc or nearer at home such as Douglas Castle, Threave or Tantallon) we’d love you to film yourself playing at the spot so we can show how piping really is a global community!

Making conections

The more information you can give about the people you mention, the more chance there is of someone else connecting with your family.

Dates and places of births, deaths and marriages all help to place families.

Professions also help.

'My great-grandmother mother was a Douglas from Montrose' does not give many clues to follow up! But a bit of flesh on the bones makes further research possible. But if we are told who she married, what his profession was and where the children were baptised, then we can get to work.

Maybe it is time to update the information in your profile?
