The Hungarians spent more time on the site than any other nationality. Most visited pages were the general information pages, eg lists of battles.
Lady Alice Douglas continues to lead the list of individuals whose biographies have been read. In 2010, there was particular interest in the late Duke of Hamilton, and his son, the 16th Duke, who take 2nd and 3rd places. Australian model, Kaera Douglas re-entered the news last year. She was the unfortunate victim of a shooting a couple of years ago. Once again, Dudu and Saba Douglas-Hamilton make the top ten. Amongst the historical biographies, Governor James Douglas and Archibald, 3rd Earl of Douglas, proved popular.
Several of our pages of 'Lists' also proved popular, particularly Clock and Watch Makers, and Poorhouse Residents. The list of Australian Arrivals was more widely read than the list of West Indian Connections, which was just ahead of American settlers.
2011 is already proving to be busy on the site, with new members joining daily. I look forward to hearing from you.
Statistics supplied by Google Analytics.
The more information you can give about the people you mention, the more chance there is of someone else connecting with your family.
Dates and places of births, deaths and marriages all help to place families.
Professions also help.
'My great-grandmother mother was a Douglas from Montrose' does not give many clues to follow up! But a bit of flesh on the bones makes further research possible. But if we are told who she married, what his profession was and where the children were baptised, then we can get to work.
Maybe it is time to update the information in your profile?
