I will be able to get back to work on this once the Clan maclean gathering it out of the way.  But I am learning a lot from them on what works well.

I think the battle of bannockburn is a great event for all Douglas's, Bruces all over the world have already decided to join up and go to the gathering as they believe they were the main story behind the battle, lets show them that it wasn't just Bruces winning this battle!!! This should be a Clan Douglas's time to go to the gathering! Forward!

go Mary Lead the Douglas charge.... yeh!!

William Jim Douglas here in the West Midlands originally part of the Kilbarchan/ Johnstone Douglases.

The more information you can give about the people you mention, the more chance there is of someone else connecting with your family.

Dates and places of births, deaths and marriages all help to place families.

Professions also help.

'My great-grandmother mother was a Douglas from Montrose' does not give many clues to follow up! But a bit of flesh on the bones makes further research possible. But if we are told who she married, what his profession was and where the children were baptised, then we can get to work.

Maybe it is time to update the information in your profile?
