In re: Hugh Drysdale Lt. Governor of Virginia ,
I had read somewhere Hugh's daughter Ann Married into the Herndon family . I highly doubt this to be a manufactured account of a phantom Ann Drysdale , still undocumentable .
Transcription:"The Herndon Family of Virginia" Volume One: The First
Three Generations by John Goodwin Herndon Ph. D. Fellow America...
Ann Drysdale listed on pages 2,9 & 29
The will of Hugh Drysdale in the form I found it in in the Library of Virginia , scroll down , it seems to be a condensation without much content .Perhaps the will itself went to Hester Drysdale and in a UK museum papers collections .

The more information you can give about the people you mention, the more chance there is of someone else connecting with your family.
Dates and places of births, deaths and marriages all help to place families.
Professions also help.
'My great-grandmother mother was a Douglas from Montrose' does not give many clues to follow up! But a bit of flesh on the bones makes further research possible. But if we are told who she married, what his profession was and where the children were baptised, then we can get to work.
Maybe it is time to update the information in your profile?
